From Abu Huraira, who said: The angel of death was sent to Musa (peace be upon him), but when he came to him, Musa punched him and knocked out his eye. So the angel returned to his Lord and said: You sent me to a servant who did not desire death. So Allah restored his eye to him, and said: Return to him and tell him to put his hand on the back of a bull, and he shall have what his hand has covered – one year for every hair. He [Musa] said: Oh my Lord, then what? He said: Then death. He said: May it be now. And he asked Allah to bring him to within a stone’s throw of the Holy Land. Then the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: If it had been me, I would have shown you all his grave, by the side of the road, under the red sand-hill.
