‘Ali related that the woman of Al-Waleed ibn ‘Uqba came to the Prophet (SAW) and said: “Oh Messenger of Allah! Indeed Al-Waleed beats her [i.e. me]” (Nasr ibn ‘Ali, in his hadith, said “she complained to him.”) And He said: “Say to him: He has given me protection.” But it wasn’t long before she came back, saying: “He just beats me more!” So He took a piece of the edge of his garment, gave it to her, and said: “Say to him: Indeed the Messenger of Allah (SAW) has given me protection.” But it wasn’t long before she came back again, saying: “He just beats me more!” Then He raised his hands and said: “Oh Allah! You deal with Al-Waleed, for he has wronged me!” Twice.
