From Al-Mutallib ibn Rabi’a ibn Al-Harith, who said: Some people from the Ansar came to the Messenger of Allah (SAW) and said: “Oh Messenger of Allah, we’ve been hearing some unpleasant things from people – one of them said that Muhammad is like a palm tree that grew out of a pile of trash. And the Messenger of Allah (SAW) got up and said: “Oh People! Who am I?” They said: “You are the Messenger of Allah.” He said: “I am Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn Abd Al-Mutallib” - (but we did not hear him mention any ancestors before that) – “Indeed Allah created His creation, and made me among the best of His creation, then made two groups out of them, and made me of the best of the two groups, then made tribes out of them, and made me of the best tribe among them, then made families out of them, and put me into a family, and I am of the best family among you, and the best person among you.”
