قال إبن بطال أجمعوا على أن من أكره على الكفر وإختار القتل أنه أعظم أجراً عند الله ممن إختار الرخصة وأما غير الكفر فإن اكره على أكل الخنزير وشرب الخمر مثلاً فالفعل أولى

Ibn Battal said: Everyone is unanimous that someone who is compelled to disbelieve, but chooses to be killed, has greater reward with Allah than someone who chooses to take license [i.e. to deny belief under compulsion]. However, for other than disbelief – if someone is compelled to eat pork or drink alcoholic beverage, for example, then doing this is preferred [i.e. over getting killed].
