The Sheikh of Islam [i.e. Ibn Taymiyyah] (may Allah have mercy on him) said, in response to the rejection of certain parties among the Druze:
The disbelief of these people is something about which Muslims do not disagree; rather, anyone who doubts if they are disbelievers is a disbeliever [kafir] like them. They are not in the same category as the People of the Book or the idolaters; rather, they are deluded disbelievers. It is not permissible to eat their food, but their women may be taken captive and their wealth seized. Indeed they are heretical apostates [zanadiqa murtaddoun], whose repentance is not accepted. Rather, they are to be killed wherever they are found, and they are to be cursed in accordance with how they have been described. It is not permissible to use them as guards, gatekeepers, or custodians. And it is obligatory to kill their scholars and their devout, lest they delude others. It is forbidden to sleep in their homes with them being there, to be their companions, to walk with them, or to attend their funerals if it is known that any of them has died. It is prohibited for the Muslim authorities to neglect administering the lawful punishments that Allah has ordered for them, in any manner deemed suitable by the one administering the punishment, not the one receiving it. And Allah is the One from whom we seek aid, and on whom we rely.
