From Abu Huraira, who said: During the age of ignorance [jahiliya], “exchange” [al-badal] was when a man would say to another man: “Trade me your wife for my wife”, that is, “Leave your wife so I can have her, and I’ll leave my wife so you can have her.” But Allah sent down: { There is no exchanging them for other wives, even if you are impressed by their beauty } . And ‘Uyayna ibn Hisn Al-Fazari went in to see the Prophet (SAW) while He was with ‘Aishah; he went in without permission. And the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said to him: How about asking permission? He said: Oh Messenger of Allah, I haven’t asked permission from any of the men of the Ansar since I got to know them. Then he said: Who is this little white girl next to you? The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: This is ‘Aishah, Mother of the Believers. He said: Shall I not trade you for something better looking? He said: Oh ‘Uyayna! Indeed Allah has forbidden that. And when he had left, ‘Aishah said: Who was that?! He said: A fool that you have to obey; as you can see, indeed he is an important man among his people.
