The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "Whoever wants to look at Satan, he should look at Nabtal ibn Al-Harith." He was a corpulent man, dark black, with disheveled hair, reddish eyes, and burnt cheeks. … Jibril came to the Messenger of Allah (SAW) and said to him: Indeed a man will sit with you, dark black, with disheveled hair, burnt cheeks, and reddish eyes like they were two brass kettles, whose liver [i.e. heart] is more disgusting than a donkey's liver … this was the description of Nabtal ibn Al-Harith.
