Anyone raised among Muslims who abandons the obligation of prayer, zakat, fasting, hajj, the prohibition on alcohol, adultery, or anything else that is agreed to be obligatory or prohibited, known to be required as part of one’s religion [deen] – such a one has disbelieved [kafara], and is to be killed for his disbelief.
