Abu Huraira related from the Prophet (SAW) who said: One who is stricken with abdominal sickness [mabtoun] is a martyr, and one who is stricken with plague is a martyr.
- Sahih Al-Bukhari, The book of medicine

Now then, mabtoun is someone who has abdominal sickness, this being diarrhea; Al-Qadi said: This is someone with swelling and a bloated abdomen. It is also said: This is someone with abdominal pains; and it is said that this is anyone who dies from abdominal sickness in general.
