Juwairiyya ibn Qudama Al-Tamimi said: We asked ‘Umar ibn Al-Khattab: Oh Leader of the Believers, give us some advice. He said: I advise you to observe the dhimma [imposing the safeguarding tribute] of Allah, for indeed this is the dhimma of your Prophet, and the means of provision for your families.
