He [Abdullah ibn Salam] came to the Prophet (SAW) and said: Indeed I’m here to ask you about three things that only a prophet could know … What is the first thing that the people of Jannah will eat? … He (SAW) said: Indeed the first thing that the people of Jannah will eat is caudate lobe of whale liver.

‘Iyad said: Caudate lobe of liver is the distinct piece adhering to it, and it is the best part. For this reason He specified that the seventy thousand should eat of it; perhaps they are those who will enter Jannah with no reckoning, favoured with the best accomodations … Ibn Al-Mubarak related in “Al-zuhd”, through a hasan chain of narration, from Ka’b Al-Ahbar, that Allah Most High will say to the people of Jannah when they enter: Indeed there is a camel ready to be slaughtered for every guest, and indeed I will slaughter for you all today a whale and a bull. And so this will be slaughtered for the people of Jannah.
