‘Umar ibn Al-Khattab related that there was a certain man during the time of the Prophet (SAW) named Abdullah, but whose nickname was Donkey; he used to make the Messenger of Allah (SAW) laugh. The Prophet (SAW) used to whip him for drinking. One day he was brought, and He gave the order, and he was whipped. And one of the men among the people said: "Oh Allah! Curse him! How many times has he been brought!" But the Prophet (SAW) said: Do not curse him; I swear by Allah for all I know he loves Allah and His Messenger.
