قرآن ﴿ فمن ابتغى وراء ذلك فأولئك هم العادون ﴾ الإشارة إلى الزوجات وملك اليمين، ومعنى العادون المجاوزون إلى ما لا يحلّ لهم فسمى سبحانه من نكح ما لا يحلّ عادياً ووراء هنا بمعنى سوى وهو مفعول ابتغى قال الزجاج أي فمن ابتغى ما بعد ذلك فمفعول الابتغاء محذوف و ﴿ وراء ﴾ ظرف وقد دلت هذه الآية على تحريم نكاح المتعة واستدلّ بها بعض أهل العلم على تحريم الاستمناء لأنه من الوراء لما ذكر وقد جمعنا في ذلك رسالة سميناها بلوغ المُنى في حكم الاستمنا وذكرنا فيها أدلة المنع والجواز وترجيح الراجح منهما
فتح القدير للشوكاني المؤمنون ٧
{ But whoever seeks beyond this, those are the transgressors } : indicating wives and what one's right hand has possessed. The meaning of "transgressors" is those who go too far, doing what is not permissible for them. The Most High has called "transgressors" those who have relations [nikah] with what is not permissible. And "beyond" here means “other than”, being the object of the verb “to seek”. Al-Zajjaj said: That is, whoever seeks anything other than this; this does not include the one who is the object of the desire. And { beyond } means the conditions. This verse indicates the prohibition on temporary pleasure marriage [nikah mut'a], and from it some scholars have concluded that masturbation is prohibited, since it is “beyond” what is mentioned. Concerning this we have put together a manuscript entitled "The realization of those burdened regarding the penalty for masturbation"; in it we mention the criteria for prohibiting and permitting it, and for weighing between the two.
