وأما المالكيون فإنهم وافقونا على أن فعل قوم لوط ليس زنى وأن إتيان البهيمة ليس زنى فساووا بينهما في هذا الباب ثم انهم جعلوا في القذف بفعل قوم لوط حد القذف بالزنى ولم يجعلوا في القذف بإتيان البهيمة حد القذف بالزنى وهذا تناقض

Now then, those of the Maliki school – indeed they agree with us that the acts of the people of Lot [i.e. homosexual activity] are not adultery [zina], and that sex with animals is not adultery; they treat both as equal in this regard, then they assigned to an unfounded accusation of homosexual activity the same punishment as for unfounded accusation of adultery, but they did not assign to an unfounded accusation of sex with animals the punishment for unfounded accusation of adultery; and this is a discrepancy.
