'Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Prophet (SAW) passed away in my house and on my day, while in my bosom. One of us women used to invoke the protection of Allah whenever He fell ill, so I began to invoke protection. And He raised his head towards heaven and said: With the most exalted companion! With the most exalted companion! 'Abd Al-Rahman ibn Abi Bakr passed by with a fresh palm frond in his hand, and the Prophet (SAW) looked at him, and I thought that He needed it, and so I took it, chewed the end of it, shook it off, and passed it to Him. And He cleaned his teeth with it as good as He ever had, then passed it to me, and his hand fell – or it fell from his hand. And so Allah brought together my saliva and his saliva on his last day in this world and his first day in the hereafter.
