And His (peace be upon him) love for 'Aishah was overflowing; do you not see how they sought to send their gifts on her day, seeking to please him? … The answer he gave [to Umm Salama] indicates that the superiority of 'Aishah over the rest of the mothers of the Believers was by divine decree, upholding his love for her, and that this decree [that He did not receive inspiration except in the quilt of 'Aishah] was one of the reasons for his love towards her.
