Ibn Juraij said: It is reported that Abu Quhafa insulted the Prophet (SAW), so Abu Bakr hit him so hard that he fell down from it. Then he mentioned this to the Prophet (SAW), and He said: Did you really do that? He said: Yes. He said: Don’t go back to him. And Abu Bakr said: I swear by Allah if there had been a sword nearby I would have killed him. Then Allah Blessed and Exalted sent down this verse.
