It is obligatory for a man to have sex with his woman that is his wife, and this at a minimum once every pure period [i.e. between menstruations], if he is able to do this, otherwise he transgresses against Allah Most High. Evidence for this is the word of Allah Mighty and Sublime { And when they have purified themselves come to them where Allah has ordered you } [Al-baqara 222].
