{ And they ask you about menstruation; say: It is harm; therefore keep away from women during menstruation; and do not get close to them until they have become pure; and when they have purified themselves come to them where Allah has ordered you. Indeed Allah loves those who turn in repentance, and He loves those who purify themselves } Al-baqara 222

{ And they ask you about menstruation } : that is, the blood flow or the location of it – what should be done with women about it? { Say: It is harm } : filth, or the location of it; { therefore keep away from women } : stop having intercourse with them; { during menstruation } : during it or in its location; { and do not get close to them } : for sex; { until they have become pure } … that is, they have bathed after it has ceased; { and when they have purified themselves, come to them } : for sex; { where Allah has ordered you } : avoiding it during menstruation, this being the front part – and do not do it somewhere else; { indeed Allah loves } : rewards and honors; { those who turn in repentance } : of sins; { and He loves those who purify themselves } : of any kind of filth.
