It is desirable for a woman to follow up with water when bathing from places that blood has flowed out of, and then with a piece of cotton with musk on it; if she does not have this, then with some mud; if she does not have this, then water suffices. Indeed we recommend this since blood can take on a bad smell. And it is desirable for a menstruating woman, whenever she is sexually impure, to bathe herself, although this is not obligatory.
