From Ibn Juraij, who said: I asked ‘Ataa about someone who applies depilatory cream on himself – must he perform ablution [wudu’]? He said: If he has not completely washed? Ibn Juraij said: He necessarily touches his penis; then he applies it to both his legs feeling discomfort, having performed ablution; must he repeat ablution? ‘Ataa said: Depilation is not a bodily occurrence [hadath] [i.e. no ablution is necessary].
