السنن الكبرى للنسائي كتاب المحاربة

From Anas ibn Malik, who said: When the Messenger of Allah (SAW) passed away, the Arabs apostatized. ‘Umr said: Oh Abu Bakr, how are you going to fight the Arabs?! Abu Bakr said: Indeed the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said “I have been ordered to fight people until they say ‘There is no god but Allah’ [‘La ilaha illa Allah’] and that I am the Messenger of Allah, and observe prayer, and give zakat”; and I swear by Allah that even if they withheld from me a young she-goat that they had given to the Messenger of Allah (SAW), I would fight them for it. ‘Umar said: When I saw Abu Bakr’s attitude and how he had been laid bare, I knew that it was true.
