Ibn Daqiq Al-‘Eid said: Reasonable analogy [qiyas] calls for jihad to be the best of deeds that are means toward something, for jihad is a means toward proclaiming and spreading news of the religion [deen] and stifling and refuting disbelief, and its virtue is commensurate with the virtue of these things. But Allah knows best.
