تفسير الطبري
{ Those who have believed fight in the cause of Allah, but those who have disbelieved fight in the cause of idols, so fight against the associates of Satan; indeed the guiles of Satan are weak } Al-nisaa 76
{ Indeed the guiles of Satan are weak } : that is, how he schemes against the Believers by rallying his associates – from among the Disbelievers in Allah – against His Messenger and his associates, those who believe in Him. He is saying: Do not be scared of the associates of Satan, for truly they are his party and his helpers, and the party of Satan are a people of frailty and weakness. Indeed He (may His praise be exalted) describes them as weak because they do not fight in the hope of a reward, nor do they fear punishment if they neglect fighting. Indeed they fight out of fervor or envy towards the Believers for what Allah will bring them of His bounty, while the Believers – any one of them who fights, fights in the hope of the greatness of Allah’s reward, and neglects fighting, if he neglects it, with the fear of Allah’s threat for neglecting it. He fights well-aware of what is his from Allah if he is killed, and the spoils and triumph that are his if he makes it out safely. However, a Disbeliever [Kafir] fights on guard against getting killed, desperate about the hereafter, and so he is a person of weakness and fear.
