Shurahbil ibn Al-Simt related from ‘Amr ibn ‘Abasa; he said: Oh ‘Amr ibn ‘Abasa, tell us a hadith that you heard from the Messenger of Allah (SAW), of which no part has been forgotten or left out. He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (SAW) say: Whoever shoots an arrow for the sake of Allah and it reaches the enemy, whether he misses or hits the mark, it will be like a freed slave to him; whoever frees a Muslim slave, it will be a ransom for every limb of his, limb by limb, out of the fire of Hell; and whoever gets a gray hair for the sake of Allah, is will be light to him on resurrection day.
