‘Aishah, the Mother of the Believers, related that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: It is not permissible to kill a Muslim except in one of three instances: A married adulterer – who is to be stoned; a man who intentionally kills a Muslim; and a man who leaves Islam, waging war against Allah Mighty and Sublime and His Messenger – he is to be killed, crucified, or banished from the land.
