Every Muslim is obliged to undertake whatever duty he can regarding this. No one is permitted to conceal any information about them that he is aware of, but rather he is to disclose and announce it so that the Muslims can accurately know their situation. No one is permitted to aid them in staying among the soldiers or hired men. No one is permitted to remain silent in carrying out against them what Allah and His Messenger have ordered. No one is permitted to disallow carrying out what Allah and His Messenger have ordered. For indeed this is one of the greatest ways to prescribe what is right and prohibit what is wrong, and jihad in the cause of Allah Most High; Allah Most High said to His Prophet (SAW): { Oh Prophet! Wage jihad on the Disbelievers and the hypocrites, and be harsh to them } [Al-tahrim 9]. Such people do not in fact oppose the Disbelievers and hypocrites.
Anyone who aids in the cessation of their evil, and in guiding them to the extent possible, his is the reward and the recompense that only Allah knows. Indeed the purpose of the first aim is to guide them, as Allah Most High has said: { You all are the best nation that has been sent out to people } [Al ‘Imran 110]. Abu Huraira said: You are the best people for people, you who bring them in shackles and chains until you make them enter Islam. The purpose of jihad, and prescribing what is right and prohibiting what is wrong, is to guide humanity to what is beneficial in living and in the hereafter, to the extent possible; for whoever Allah guides is happy in this world and in the next, although whoever is not guided – Allah will hold back his detriment from others.
