From Ibn ‘Abbas, who said: The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: There are no days in which good deeds are done that are more pleasing to Allah than these days – meaning the days of ‘Ashr [the first ten days of the month of Dhul-Hijjah]. The people said: Oh Messenger of Allah, not even jihad for the sake of Allah? He said: Not even jihad for the sake of Allah, except for someone who sets out with his life and his wealth, and does not return with any of it.
