Woman who apostatize are not to be killed, but they are to be permanently locked up until they yield into Islam. We have been made aware that Ibn ‘Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: If a woman apostatizes from Islam, she is to be locked up but not killed. And we have been made aware that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) prohibited killing the women of the Idolaters in wartime.
