{ Indeed those who oppose Allah and His Messenger – they are among the most miserable. Allah has decreed: “Surely I will overcome, me and my messengers”; indeed Allah is strong, mighty. You will not find people who believe in Allah and the last day to be affectionate towards anyone who opposes Allah and His Messenger, even if they are their fathers, or their sons, or their brothers, or their kinsfolk; These – He has written belief upon their hearts, and He upholds them with a spirit of His; and He will admit them into gardens below which rivers flow, there for eternity. Allah is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him; they are the party of Allah; is it not indeed the party of Allah who are the prosperous ones? } Al-mujadilah 20-22

{ Indeed those who oppose } : act in opposition to; { Allah and His Messenger – they are among the most miserable } : the conquered. { Allah has written } : on the Preserved Tablet, or has decreed; { “Surely I will overcome, me and my messengers” } : by arguments or the sword; { indeed Allah is strong, mighty } . { You will not find people who believe in Allah and the last day to be affectionate } : make friends; { towards anyone who opposes Allah and His Messenger, even if they } : that is, the ones being shown affection; { are their fathers } : that is, of the Believers; { or their sons, or their brothers, or their kinsfolk } : but rather, they seek harm on them and fight against them over the issue of belief, as a group of the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) had to do.
