{ The Bedouins say: “We have believed”. Say: “You have not believed, but say rather: ‘We have yielded’; for indeed belief has not entered your hearts; but if you obey Allah and His Messenger, He will not minimize any of your works; indeed Allah is forgiving, merciful.” Truly the Believers are those who have believed in Allah and His Messenger, then have no misgivings, and wage jihad in the cause of Allah with their wealth and with themselves; these are the true ones } Al-hujarat 14-15
It is narrated from Sa’id ibn Jubair, Mujahid, and Ibn Zaid that they said regarding the word of the Blessed and Exalted: { But say rather: ‘We have yielded' [aslamna, became Muslims] } ; they said: In other words, “we have surrendered out of fear of being killed or imprisoned”. … The word of the Most High: { Truly the Believers } : that is, truly the perfect Believers; { are those who have believed in Allah and His Messenger, then have no misgivings } : that is, they have no doubts and are not shaken up, but rather remain firm upon a single state of affairs, this being unadulterated belief. { And wage jihad in the cause of Allah with their wealth and with themselves } : that is, they freely give their lives and their most valuable wealth in obedience to Allah and His good pleasure.
