{ Say: Running away will be of no use to you if you run away from death or killing, and even if so, you will be granted only brief enjoyment } Al-ahzab 16

Then He lets them know that running away like that will not postpone their appointed moment, nor will it prolong their lives, but rather may be a reason for hastening their being taken unexpectedly; for this reason the Most High says: { And even if so, you will be granted only brief enjoyment } ; that is, after you flee and run away.
