{ So do not obey the Disbelievers, but wage jihad against them with it in a great jihad } Al-furqan 52
{ But wage jihad on them with it in a great jihad } ; some say that the meaning is to exert effort in carrying out one’s duty and in making invocations, some say that the meaning is to fight, and others say both. The closest is the first, since this surah is from Mecca, and the command to fight came a certain time after the emigration [hijra]. Indeed He says: { In a great jihad } because if He sent forth someone to warn every village, He would oblige every warner to strive in jihad on his village, so all these strivings came together in the Messenger of Allah, and for this reason his jihad became greater and was exalted. So He says to him: { But wage jihad on them } : since you are to warn all villages; { in a great jihad } : that brings together all individual strivings in jihad.
