The interpretation of { And wage jihad for Allah as is due His jihad } and { as is due fear of Him } [Al ‘Imran 102]: What is due Him is that which implies your capacity, your innate disposition, and your obedience, as in His word: { So fear Allah as best you can } [Al-taghabun 16]. And this is the explanation of His word: { as is due fear of Him } and { as is due His jihad } ; then this implies His word: { And wage jihad for Allah } : that is, wage jihad on yourselves against your desires and ambitions, or wage jihad on the enemies of Allah in driving away the Tempter and in battling them.
