Ahmad and Al-Bukhari both related from Abdullah ibn Hisham (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: We were with the Messenger of Allah (SAW), and He was holding the hand of ‘Umar ibn Al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him). ‘Umar said: I swear by Allah, you, oh Messenger of Allah, are more beloved to me than anything except myself. Then the Prophet (SAW) said: None of you truly believes until I am more beloved to him than even himself.
