{ Shall you not fight a people who have broken their oaths and were intent on expelling the Messenger, and started with you the first time? Do you fear them? For Allah is more worthy that you should fear Him, if you are Believers. Fight them; Allah will punish them by your hands and disgrace them, and will give you the victory over them, and will heal the bosoms of a believing people. And He will drive out the fury from their hearts; for Allah turns towards who He wishes; and Allah is knowing, wise } Al-tawba 13-15

The word of the Most High: { Fight them } : a command; { Allah will punish them } : its fulfillment; and this is a declaration meaning punishment in retribution. The reckoning is: If you fight them, Allah will punish them by your hands and disgrace them , and will give you the victory over them, and will heal the bosoms of a believing people. { And He will drive out the fury from their hearts } : evidence that their fury had become severe. Mujahid said: This refers to the Khuza’a, allies of the Messenger of Allah (SAW).
