{ Oh you who have believed, fear Allah and seek the means to draw near to Him, and wage jihad in His cause, that perhaps you may be successful } Al-ma'ida 35

Abu Ja’far said: He (may his praise be exalted) means by this: Oh you who have believed in Allah and his Messenger in what He has told them, and the reward He has promised, and the punishment He has threatened; { fear Allah } : He is saying: Comply with Allah in what He has ordered for you and prohibited to you, in obedience to Him regarding these things, and fulfill your faith and your belief in your Lord and your Prophet by your good deeds. { And seek the means to draw near to Him } ; He is saying: Pursue closeness with Him by doing what pleases Him.
