{ And do not grow weary in pursuing people } ; He is saying: Do not grow weak in pursuing people, that is, regarding Abu Sufyan and his companions seeking out the Idolaters after the day of Uhud. This was when the Muslims received injuries on the day of Uhud and grew too weak to go out and wage jihad, Allah Most High ordered them to bring out earnestness and valor in themselves. This was addressed to them and to all Muslim fighters until resurrection day.
