{ Whoever aspires to a religion other than Islam, it will not be accepted of him; and in the hereafter he will be among the losers } Al ‘Imran 85

{ Whoever aspires to a religion other than Islam } : that is, other than asserting one god [tawhid] and compliance with the authority of Allah; { it will not be accepted of him; and in the hereafter he will be among the losers } : those who fall into perdition, the meaning being one who turns away from Islam, and seeks something else, forfeits what is profitable and falls into perdition from having cancelled his innate and sound disposition upon which people are created; and from this it is concluded that belief is Islam, and if otherwise, it is not accepted. The response is that there is no acceptance of any religion that contradicts it; nothing that contradicts it is accepted.
