قرآن ﴿ كتب عليكم القتال وهو كره لكم وعسى أن تكرهوا شيئاً وهو خير لكم وعسى أن تحبوا شيئاً وهو شر لكم والله يعلم وانتم لا تعلمون ﴾ البقرة ٢١٦
هذا إيجاب من الله تعالى للجهاد على المسلمين أن يكفوا شر الأعداء عن حوزة الاسلام وقال الزهري الجهاد واجب على كل أحد غزا أو قعد فالقاعد عليه إذا استعين أن يعين وإذا استغيث أن يغيث وإذا استنفر أن ينفر وإن لم يحتج إليه قعد … ثم قال تعالى ﴿ وعسى أن تكرهوا شيئاً وهو خير لكم ﴾ أي لأن القتال يعقبه النصر والظفر على الأعداء والإستيلاء على بلادهم وأموالهم وذراريهم واولادهم ﴿ وعسى أن تحبوا شيئاً وهو شر لكم ﴾ وهذا عام في الأمور كلها قد يحب المرء شيئاً وليس له فيه خيرة ولا مصلحة ومن ذلك القعود عن القتال
تفسير إبن كثير
{ Fighting is ordained for you, being something you dislike; but perhaps you dislike something that is good for you, and perhaps you like something that is bad for you; and Allah knows but you do not know } Al-baqara 216
This is an obligation from Allah Most High on the Muslims to wage jihad, to restrain the evil of the enemies. Al-Zuhri said: Jihad is everyone’s duty, whether he sets out to attack or sits it out. For the one who sits it out, it is obligatory for him, if he is asked to give support, to give support; if he is asked to assist, to assist; if he is called to mobilize, to mobilize; and if he is not needed, to sit it out. … Then the Most High said: { Perhaps you dislike something that is good for you } ; that is, because victory and triumph over the enemies follows after fighting, as does taking possession of their land, their wealth, their women, and their children. { And perhaps you like something that is bad for you } : this refers in general to all affairs; a man might like something, although it has neither benefit nor gain for him, and this leads to sitting out from fighting.
