{ And among the people there are those who sell themselves seeking after the good pleasures of Allah; and Allah is compassionate to the servants. Oh you who have believed! Enter completely into peace and do not follow the steps of Satan; indeed he is a clear enemy to you } Al-baqara 207-208

The expositors differ regarding the meaning of “peace” here; some of them say that it means Islam … other say, rather, that the meaning is “Enter into obedience” … The correct way to say it in my view is that indeed Allah (may His praise be exalted) has commanded those who believe to take up observance of all the laws of Islam.
