Among the rulings is the permissibility for a man to make supplication to be killed for the sake of Allah and for him to desire this. This is not merely a desire for death, which is prohibited. As Abdullah ibn Jahsh said: Oh Allah! Let me face someone from among the Idolaters, whose disbelief is great and whose fury is strong, and I will fight him, and he will kill me for you, and plunder me, then cut off my nose and ears; then when I meet you, you say: Oh Abdullah ibn Jahsh, for what were you mutilated? And I will say: For you, oh Lord!
