عن علي بن ابي طالب أنه أتي برجل كان نصرانياً فأسلم ثم تنصر فسأله عمر عن كلمة فقال له فقام إليه علي فرفسه برجله فقام الناس إليه فضربوه حتى قتلوه

A certain man was brought to ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib who had been a Christian, became a Muslim, then became a Christian again. ‘Umar asked him about a word, and he told him. Then ‘Ali got up towards him and kicked him with his foot; and the people got up and beat him until they killed him.
