‘Amr Al-Shaybani related that Al-Mustawrid Al-‘Ijli became a Christian after having been in Islam. So ‘Utba ibn Farqad sent word of this to ‘Ali; he called him to repent, but he did not repent, so he killed him. And the Christians asked for his carcass [jifa] for thirty thousand, but he refused, then burned him.
