Those of the Muslim martyrs who are killed are wrapped in the garments that they were killed in, buried in them, and are neither washed nor prayed over. The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said regarding the martyrs at Uhud: Wrap them with their wounds, for surely they will be brought forth on resurrection day with their jugular veins flowing blood, its color the color of blood but its scent the scent of musk. Indeed thus He did with them to honor them, and to fulfill the decree of life in this; Allah Most High said: { Do not at all deem those who have been killed in the cause of Allah to be dead, but rather alive with their Lord, bestowed with favor } [Al ‘Imran 169].
