Then Thabit got up and said: Praise be to Allah who created the heavens and the earth, decreed His command in them, and whose knowledge surrounds His throne; nothing exists at all except by His bounty. Then it was in His power to make us rulers, and He chose a messenger from among the best of His creation, honored him in lineage, made him truthful in speech, favored him in esteem, sent down His book to him, and entrusted him with it above all His creation; He was the blessing of Allah to the worlds. Then He called people to believe in him; and the emigrants [muhajirun] from among his people and his kinsfolk believed in the Messenger of Allah (SAW), the most esteemed of people, the best of people in conduct, and the best of people in deeds. Then the first of mankind to answer and respond to Allah, when the Messenger of Allah (SAW) called them, were us. We are Allah’s helpers and the ministers of His Messenger. We fight people until they believe in Allah; whoever believes in Allah and His Messenger, He forbids their property and their blood, but whoever disbelieves, we wage jihad on them for Allah again and again. Killing them is easy for us. These are my words I speak, and I seek forgiveness from Allah for myself, the Believers, and the believing women. And peace be upon you.
