Al-Baraa (may Allah be pleased with him) said: A man came to the Prophet (SAW) with an iron visor on, and said: Oh Messenger of Allah, should I fight or become Muslim? He said: Become Muslim, then fight. So the man became Muslim, and then fought, and was killed. And the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: He laboured little and was rewarded much.
- Sahih Al-Bukhari, The book of jihad and campaigns

“With an iron visor on” : this is an allusion to covering his face with a war implement. And “he was rewarded much” : that is, he was rewarded with a great reward; and this hadith shows that great reward comes with modest work done to the good favour of Allah and excellence in deed.

Ibn Hajar Al-Asqalani, Fath Al-Bari, The book of jihad
