If a Muslim apostatizes from Islam, Islam is to be presented to him. If he yields back into Islam, fine; otherwise, he is killed then and there, unless he asks to be deferred. If he asks for this, he is deferred for three days. We have been made aware of similar reports from the Prophet (SAW) regarding the killing of apostates [murtadd].
