‘Alqama ibn Shihab Al-Qushairi said: The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: Whoever has not gone on an attack with me, let him go out to attack at sea, for indeed the reward of one day at sea is like the reward of one month on land; and indeed killing at sea is like two killings on land; and indeed one who sways in a boat is like one who is immersed in his blood; and indeed the best of the martyrs of my ummah are the ones in the core [i.e. lower deck]. The people asked: And what are the ones in the core, oh Messenger of Allah? He said: The people who make their ships tilt and tip over for the sake of Allah.
