From Tariq ibn Shihab, a hadith of Abu Bakr, who said: The first person who began on the day of festival [‘eid] with the address [khutbah] before prayer was Marwan. And a man stood up to him and said: Prayer is before the khutbah. But he said: That has been abandoned. And Abu Sa’id remarked: Indeed this man has complied with his obligation; I heard the Messenger of Allah (SAW) say: Whoever of you sees wrongdoing, let him change it with his hand, but if he can not, then with his tongue, and if he can not, then with his heart, although this is the weakest of belief.
